This really shows you the difference one person can make!

I fell in love with sea turtles 19 years ago on my very first scuba dive. There I was, floundering around, trying to get zero buoyancy, and these two turtles swam about five feet in front on me.

I’d never seen anything so chill before. These two beautiful animals that could have been up to 100 years old. They were huge. They were graceful. They looked completely separate from everything around them.

Crush from Finding Nemo had it right. No cares, just riding the current around the world.

To see the work Mel Tennant has done and continues to do to bring back the turtle population in Ocho Rios, Jamaica is really humbling.

He gave us about a 20 minute talk on sea turtles specifically the ones that nest on his beach and will continue to come back to this exact same beach every 2-5 years for the next 100 years!

From zero turtles surviving in 2004 to 193 nests in 2014 with 21,212 baby turtles hatched! All because of one man that saw turtle tracks on the beach outside his home and decided to help.

Being able to be a small part of that work was truly a bucket list.

And you can see it for yourself! We’re drawing for our 2nd trip to Sandals Ochi Beach Resort tomorrow morning at 7:20. Enter here
