Another CFL season is here and aside from wanting the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to do well (playoffs, Grey Cup) we the fans need and WANT better traffic flow getting to and leaving IGF.

The Blue Bombers front office has made a pretty bold offer…You should expect to see some better traffic flow. If not, tickets to the next home game will be free!

Major improvements to the parking and transportation plan were made in the off-season…here’s a quick rundown of what’s been changed & addressed

There’s a new Stadium Station terminal: accommodating 200-plus buses

Starting tomorrow, all transit and park-and-ride users will arrive and leave through the dedicated terminal just outside gates 3 and 4. That means faster exit for cars parked on the U of M Campus (hopefully)

The traffic lights at Pembina Highway and Chancellor Matheson have been adjusted to stay green nearly four times longer after the game.

Not ready for the party to end after the game? Specific shuttles will leave from Gate 2 going to five different spots: Earls St. Vital, Boston Pizza Kenaston, The Pint downtown, Canadian Brewhouse, or Confusion Corner Bar & Grill. Each shuttle will go to one of those five locations and they’ll leave once it’s full or no later than 20 minutes after the game.

Wanna ride you bike? Use the valet service! The Blue Bombers have a secure and monitored bike storage for 800 bicycles on game days, located beside Gate 3. There’s also unmonitored bike racks located around the stadium and campus for an additional 300 bikes.

Not familiar with the Park and Ride option to and from IGF…here’s how it works!

The non-stop service to and from IGF begins two hours before kickoff with the last buses leaving for the stadium 15 minutes prior to kickoff. After the game, buses will load for departure at the new Stadium Station terminal outside of gates 3 and 4.

Cost is $5 for a round trip, which will be collected upon arrival at Investors Group Field.

Season passes are also available at the Bomber ticket centre in the Bomber Store for $40.
