Some say its not a word. According to a 2013 Huffington Post article claims it is in fact a word that means the same as regardless (you read that article HERE) then when why not just say…regardless?

 

For example, “Squiggly will eat chocolate irregardless of the consequences.”

 

No it’s just regardless.

 

Adding the I R before regardless…just makes it a double negative.
