“I’m not just a child star. I’m not just someone’s sister. And I’m not just a teen mom. For the first time, this is the real story”

Jamie Lynn Spears will be back on TV for the first time since Zoey 101

Jamie Lynn Spears is ready to step back into the limelight with Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out, a new hourlong special on TLC.

The actress is best known for starring as Zoey Brooks on the Nickelodeon teen sitcom Zoey 101 from 2005 to 2008.

That all ended in December 2007, when in an interview with OK! magazine, Spears announced that she was pregnant by her boyfriend of two years, Casey Aldridge. She was 16 years old at the time.

She gave birth to a daughter, Maddie, and basically put her career on hiatus. She now lives in Louisiana, carpools her daughter to school, and has been happily married to Jamie Watson, a businessman who owns communications service Advanced Media Partners, since March 2014.

In 2013, she decided it was time.

“When I had my little girl, I really figured what I wanted to do with the rest of my life and what kind of legacy I want to leave behind,” she told Rolling Stone. “That’s when I started writing music, and I didn’t do anything for almost five years. I was just writing, figuring out who I was as an artist.”

Spears relaunched her career as a country music recording artist and released her debut single, “How Could I Want More”.

Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out leads all the way to her performance at the Grand Ole Opry, where her sister Britney and brother Bryan introduced her to the stage.

“Thanks to the Opry for letting me introduce this beautiful young lady who is my heart and my soul,” said Britney. “Not only is she beautiful and extremely talented, but she’s my little sister: Jamie Lynn Spears!”

Jamie Lynn Spears return to TV will air on TLC on June 26 at 9 p.m. CT, the same day the 25-year-old country singer will premiere her new single, “Sleepover.”
