The ability to pee in privacy has been in the news a lot lately, but it doesn’t address my bathroom insecurities. I don’t care what gender you are, I don’t want you to listen to me use the washroom!

I am 100% one of those people that runs the tap in the bathroom.

75% of water used each year is from wasted activities like running the tap while you pee

So when I saw the video advertising the ‘Silent Loo’ app, I was pretty excited.

An app that plays a masking noise, with settings ranging from Tap and Shower, to Costa Rican River! Amazing!

But It Wasn’t Real

The fact that Tsunami was one of the options should maybe have clued me in to the date: April 1st. It was an April Fools joke!

Luckily, there were enough people (like me) that were seriously disappointed this app wasn’t real so Bathstore decided to make it a reality.

To mark this week’s World Environment Day, Bathstore has released the fully functioning app for iPhone and Android, which you can now download for free.

What does the environment have to do with it? Bathstore’s research found 75% of water used each year is from wasted activities like running the tap while you pee.
