Welcome to Litchfield

The fourth season of Orange is the New Black comes to Netflix on Friday June 17. For fans of the show, this is an exciting time. The last season ended with a bit of a cliff hanger (what’s going to happen to Alex Vause) so fans have been waiting patiently to see what comes next for the gang at Litchfield Penitentiary. If you’re looking for the perfect food to go with your upcoming binge watch of season four a pop-up restaurant has a menu modelled after the food from the prison’s cafeteria.

Prison Food Never Tasted So Good

In honour of the new season of Orange is the New Black a pop-up restaurant will be serving three menu items that would fit right into the segmented serving trays at the jail. And the food actually looks pretty good. The dishes were many to look unappetizing but taste great.

Appetizer

Corn Mush: a corn snack with jalapeño cheese and lime.

Entree

Nutraloaf: a bland prison staple gets tasty with a combination of mushrooms, quinoa, pumpkin and nori baked together with cheddar cheese.

Dessert

Gruel: a white chocolate-coconut pudding topped with crumbled almond.

Second Helpings Anyone?

All meals come with a plastic cup of cool, refreshing, water. Sadly if you want to dine at this cafe, it involves a trip to Singapore. And since this is a specially-themed popup restaurant to coincide with the debut of the new season, it probably won’t be there on your next trip out east. But, if this sounds really tasty to you, use these ideas to create your own OITNB-inspired menu and let us know how it turns out!
