This Is Why Dogs Smell When They"re Wet

Is there a smell that’s kinda gross but you love it?

For me…its wet dog smell!!!

Its gross to think about because the smell essentially comes from yeast and bacteria living in dogs fur. When dogs get wet, water dissolves the yeast and bacterial compounds which have been trapped in the fur. When the water evaporates, the odours rise and make the surrounding air smell GROSS.  

Some dog breeds produce more skin oils than others, also explaining why some dogs emit that wet dog smell more than others. 

Solution? 

Give your pup a good healthy wash!
