We’ve all heard the term “Netflix and Chill”…right?

That saying is supposed to mean throw on Netflix and have some fun with your S/O…well that’s not the case! People are actually having LESS sexy time BECAUSE of excessive screen time.

According to a bummer of a new study …Researchers found that in the 1990s, the average person had sex about 60 to 65 times a year, by 2014 that number had dropped to just 53—which is basically once a week. And while the decline was pretty much apparent across the board—regardless of age gender, race, or geographic location—married couples were definitely hit the hardest, down from 73 times a year in 1990 to just 55 in 2014.

The authors of the study figure that since people are now waiting longer to have kids, the later childbearing may create a “perfect storm” for married couples of having school-age children and being older, both of which seem to decrease sexual frequency. Makes sense, I guess? Also pointing out some possible cultural changes over the past 20 years…For instance, the rise of social media and video on-demand.

I mean, why have sex when you can Facebook-stalk your high school boyfriend or streaming all five seasons of that show you haven’t watched yet!
