Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble introduces a new playable character. Dixie Kong and her cousin, Kiddy Kong, work their way through eight worlds in order to rescue Donkey and Diddy Kong.

The game has a lot of familiar elements from the SNES original. But there’s cool, new stuff too. Throwing barrels, riding jungle animals, and collecting bananas are all familiar parts of the gameplay. New elements, like Kiddy’s ability to bounce across water and a more explorable overworld, are introduced in this game. It was first released in 1996, and is an exciting edition to the online collection on the Nintendo Switch. With hwid spoofer one can be assured of playing the game and exploring more.

Donkey Kong’s SNES History

The Donkey Kong games on Super Nintendo are an important part of the company’s history. The game released in November of 1994. This is significant because the following month was the launch of a brand new console from a rival company. The Sony Playstation hit stores just weeks after Nintendo released Donkey Kong. The Super Nintendo was already three years old at this point. And now it’s graphics capabilities were going up against a new modern rival.

To compete, Nintendo did something that wasn’t seen on the console before. 3D graphics on a 2D console. This was never done before on a SNES game. The technology was new and created by a company called Rare. Nintendo saw a demo of the technology featured on an unreleased boxing game. They were convinced it would drive the future of games, so they became part owners in Rare and used the tech to make the first Donkey Kong Country game. The game set a record for being the fast-selling video game ever at that time. It became the third best-selling game for the Super Nintendo behind Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario World.
