The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are about to become a family of four! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their second child.

A spokesperson for the couple revealed, “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”  Their baby will be the younger sibling to Archie Harrison, the couple’s firstborn who turns 2 on May 6.

To announce the news about Meghan’s pregnancy, a black-and-white photo, which was taken by longtime friend and photographer, Misan Harriman, was posted to Instagram on Valentine’s Day.  Harry, who is all smiles and barefoot, looks at Meghan while she cradles her baby bump as her head rests in his lap.

In an essay published by New York Times in November, Meghan revealed she suffered a miscarriage in July, “Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few.”

Harry and Meghan made the decision last year to officially step down from their roles as senior royals.  At the time, a palace source close to the couple explained, “By the time of Archie’s birth, they knew they were going to hit the nuclear button on their royal exit.  When Archie was born, the couple’s focus shifted even more to doing what’s right for their family.”

The couple, who now live in California, have been ‘over the moon’ since the birth of Archie, “It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy.  He’s just been a dream,” Meghan said shortly after Archie’s birth.  Harry then added, “It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine. [We look forward to spending] precious times with him as he slowly, slowly starts to grow up.”
