Billie Eilish surprised fans when she virtually appeared on The Ellen Show on Tuesday (May 11).  While chatting with Ellen, Billie was asked what made her decide to go blonde, “I’ve been wanting blonde for a while. I don’t know what came over me.  I saw a fan edit when I had green hair, and it was like, me just with whatever hair color I had, and they just edited blonde hair on me, and I was like, ‘Ahhh! It’s so sick I want it!'”

Billie continues, “I kind of thought of it as a dream.  I didn’t think it was going to happen ’cause my hair’s been through so much. I thought I’d burn it all off if I tried, but I did it!”  Ellen then asked how long the process took, having to go from dark hair to blonde, “We started in January, Jan. 16 I think was the first day. Then it was two weeks of nothing — healing, letting my hair take it in and digest and recover. And then again, and then two more weeks. … Oh my god, it took a long time,” Billie shared.

The night before (May 10), Billie appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert – she performed her new song ‘Your Power’ and revealed that the last time she appeared on The Late Show, in February, she was actually rocking a wig, “I knew it would have these processing periods where it would look insane, and I didn’t want to look insane, but I needed something quick so I literally ordered a ‘Billie Eilish Halloween costume wig’ on Amazon,” the singer said with a laugh. “It was awful, it was the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Billie then opened about the reaction she received on Instagram for her British Vogue cover photos, “I think it more just makes me never want to post again. I feel like I wanted to post more when less people cared, and now that more people care, it’s like scary to me.”
